YOU(TH) 4 FUTURE is an individual European Solidarity Corps volunteering project hosted by the Portuguese Red Cross - Sanguedo, in Santa Maria da Feira. From 1st March to 30 July 2027, volunteers will take part in diverse social, cultural, educational and environmental activities, working with children, elderly people, animals and the local community. Volunteers will support the Senior University, kindergarten and elderly day centre, solidarity shop, animal organisations and environmental initiatives. They will also have the opportunity to develop their own personal project according to their interests and contribute with their ideas, creativity and skills. The project promotes solidarity, interculturality, inclusion, personal development and non-formal learning. Volunteers will receive accommodation, food and pocket money, linguistic support, mentoring and training. Dzīvošana, ēdināšana un transports
Free accommodation is provided in a shared house, with shared rooms and water, electricity and Wi-Fi included. Volunteers receive €150/month for food and €6/day pocket money. Travel costs are reimbursed according to the distance band and the budget established by the National Agency, upon presentation of the required travel documents.
Mācības pasākuma laikā
Volunteers will receive on-arrival and mid-term training provided by the Portuguese National Agency, as well as workshops organised by the hosting and partner organisations. They will also have access to mandatory Online Linguistic Support (OLS) to learn Portuguese. Activities will use non-formal education methods and support the development of personal, social and key competences.
Dalībnieka profils
Youngsters aged 18-30 yo who are motivated, responsible and interested in volunteering, intercultural learning and community engagement. Participants should be willing to work in a multicultural team, take initiative, develop new skills and contribute actively to local activities. No specific professional background is required; motivation, openness and willingness to learn are the main criteria.
