Are you a self-starter eager to create real impact in a local European community while exploring social work and youth initiatives?

Coordinated by Cherry International Foundation and hosted in partnership with Sedna, LEAP gives 4 proactive volunteers the freedom to shape their own volunteering week and bring their own creative ideas to life!

What You Will Do

Your working week (Monday to Friday, 30–38 hours) balances structured social engagement with freedom of choice:

• 1 Day at Cherry Office (Dalen): Hands-on work caring for animals, supporting site welfare.
• 1 Day at the VIP! School (Sedna): Co-create, prepare, and facilitate inspiring, skill-sharing workshops for local volunteers.
• 1 Day at the Emmen Youth Centre: Run creative drop-in sessions, budget cooking, game nights, and youth activities.
• 2 Days of Tailored Community Action: Choose your focus across Sedna’s branches!

Smještaj, hrana i prijevoz

• Accommodation: Volunteers will live together in a shared house in Emmen with common areas and a private bedroom for each volunteer.
• Financial Support: You will receive a monthly allowance covering living costs and pocket money (pocket money €217/month + food allowance €210/month)
• Travel: Travel costs from your sending country to Emmen (and return) are reimbursed up to the official European Solidarity Corps distance band limit.
• Local Transport: Train travel required for weekly tasks at the Cherry office in Dalen will be fully covered.
• Insurance: Fully covered by the HENNER / ESC insurance scheme.

Osposobljavanje tijekom aktivnosti

• On-arrival and mid-term training organized by the Dutch National Agency.
• Personal guidance, regular check-ins, and tailor-made mentoring provided throughout the project.
• Basic Dutch language support and cultural integration activities.

Profil sudionika

We are looking for 4 open-minded, proactive, and self-driven individuals (aged 18–30) who:

• Take Initiative: You don’t wait for step-by-step instructions - you like to brainstorm, bring ideas to life, and take ownership of your tasks.
• Are Creative & Flexible: You enjoy working with different target groups (youth, local residents, vulnerable groups) and adapting to dynamic daily schedules.
• Love Local & Rural Life: You are enthusiastic about living in a semi-rural environment (Emmen, Drenthe) and making a direct, visible impact in a smaller community.
• Have an Open Mind: You welcome new experiences, enjoy working in a team, and want to learn about social work, community building, and animal care.
• No specific background required: Passion, motivation, initiative, and a willingness to explore matter most to us!
