Like many young people before you who have had a fantastic experience with our senior citizens, join our Association and become part of this wonderful chain of solidarity. Together with another European volunteer, your goal will be to help elderly people who suffer from loneliness and social isolation. How? Main mission: the "Word Bridge" project: Participate in writing workshops with a dozen elderly people, participate in the design of exhibitions in different places in Marseille and promote the expression and visibility of speech by elderly people. You will visit a dozen of elderly people regularly in "EHPAD "( "Accommodation facility for dependent elderly people"),take part in group activities, run digital workshops and participate in training and community life. You will be part of a team of French colleagues whose mission is to support teams of volunteers of all ages at the regional level. We want to give you a memorable and exciting volunteering experience within a recognised organisation where staff and volunteers work hand in hand!
Regelingen voor accommodatie, eten, en vervoer
You will be 2 European volunteers. Location of accomodation and mission: 13012 Marseille- You will live in the city center, hosted in the Résidence Parme in Louis Armand area.The place of the mission is the regional office of the organization. You will receive pocket money 530€/month). You will benefit from health insurance.
Wat leer je?
You will benefit from dedicated trainings during all the year (it takes place in different cities in France: it is a great occasion to discover France and to meet with other volunteers from every age!) You will take part in the trainings organized by the French National Agency ('On-arrival' and 'Mid-term'). - Supervision and advices will be provided by experimented staff and volunteers. - Conditions will be created to help you to fit-in well in your new environment and to get to meet other young people. You will access French courses.

The mission is perfect for someone who: 1/ like talking with people in general, and elderly in particular 2/ like team work but also autonomy 3/ want to feel useful, want to give and are ready to receive 4/ is able to have a conversation in French and have the will to progress 5/ is open-minded and want to acquire social, intercultural and personal skills TO APPLY: click on "APPLY" and explain in few sentences why you are motivated by this project :) It is a plus to have a driving licence but not compulsory.
