ESC Volunteering in Dortmund: 12 Months Starting in November or December 2026
Train of Hope Dortmund e.V,
Dortmund, Germania
Descrizione
Join Train of Hope Dortmund for a 12-month volunteering experience in Germany. We support refugees, migrants, young people and families through social, educational, cultural and international activities. Our work promotes solidarity, inclusion, anti-discrimination and participation.
You will support workshops, youth activities and community events, help with reception and everyday organisational tasks, and contribute to international youth projects. Depending on your interests, you may also support communication and social media or develop a small activity of your own. You will work alongside our team and gain experience in community work and non-formal education.
The planned start is November or December 2026; the exact arrival date will be agreed individually.
Alloggio, vitto e trasporto
You will have your own room in a fully equipped shared flat in Dortmund, within walking distance of Train of Hope. A maximum of three volunteers will share the apartment. Accommodation is provided. You will receive EUR 420 per month in total for food allowance and pocket money, plus a Deutschlandticket for local and regional public transport. Travel costs to and from the project will be reimbursed within the applicable ESC funding limits.
Formazione durante l'attività
You will receive an introduction to Train of Hope, guidance from our team and mentoring throughout your stay. You will take part in ESC on-arrival training and a mid-term evaluation, where you can reflect on your experience and meet other ESC volunteers based across the country. Together, we will support your learning goals and document your progress through Youthpass. You can also join workshops and other learning activities at Train of Hope according to your interests.
Profilo del partecipante
We are looking for motivated people aged 18–30 who would like to commit to 12 months of volunteering. You should be reliable, open-minded and interested in working with people from different cultural backgrounds.
An interest in youth work, social inclusion, migration, anti-discrimination or community activities is welcome. Experience in workshops, international projects, communication or social media is useful but not required. We value motivation, teamwork, respect for diversity and willingness to learn.
You should be able to communicate in English. German is helpful, as it is used in our daily work, and motivation to learn and improve it is important.
In your motivation statement, tell us why you would like to join Train of Hope, which activities interest you and your earliest possible starting date.
