Be part of the Youthquake! A project aiming at bringing a "quake" of new energies to rebuild the cultural and social structure of the areas in central Italy affected by the summer 2016 earthquake. We are looking for volunteers available from the 1st to the 16th of July : this is a short term project so, if you decide to participate, you will still be able to do another EVS experience of max. 10 months. You will be helping the Hosting Organisation in beautiful Fiastra, near Macerata (Italy): mornings will be dedicated to manual works (restoration of damaged spaces) while the afternoon will be for more social/cultural activities, like support the re-opening of an Institution for Tourism promotion by organising events, collaborating with a theatre company to organise activities locally etc. If this sounds interesting and you are available on the set dates, don't hesitate to contact us!

The hosting organisation will provide accomodation in a shared flat with common dorms and kitchen facilities. The volunteer will get a pocket money and a food allowance. Volunteers will be based close to an historical town in central Italy.Travel to and from location will also be covered.

Youthpass: you will be supported in learning about and using these two important tools. You will be supported by a Tutor for the length of your experience. You will learn about the area's history and traditions and meet with locals.

You will be selected based on your interest in the project, your attitude, your willingness to interact with people of different backgrounds. Knowledge of Italian and/or prior experience in manual and recreational activities will be preferred, but are not essential. Please note that VISA costs are NOT covered. When applying, take into account the necessary time to process your VISA (it could be over a month) to make sure you are able to join in the set dates.
