Beskrivning

This project gives the volunteer an opportunity to get to know more about work in an internationally standard-setting substitute home for children, the SOS Children’s Village. Our children’s village provides homes and parental care for approx. 58 children (aged 4-18). The volunteer will be getting to know and help SOS families, engaging children in different fun and educating activities and acting as a support person in a kindergarten.to support the families and also give the kids a chance to explore different culture and practise English language skills. The volunteer can organise different hobby classes, activities dependent on the volunteers skills, experiences and knowledge. In the summertime the job would be more flexible and would mostly consist of outdoor-activities in the surrounding nature. Annual events in summertime we have are Children's Village birthday, SOS Football cup, canoeing trip and many more.

Logi, mat och transporter

The accommodation costs are covered. Volunteer will live in a shared flat equipped with all the necessary utilities for comfortable living. The flat will be located not far from the activities place. Each month volunteer’s receive pocket and food money. The transportation from home country to Estonia and back will be covered according to the distance calculator of Erasmus+ program. Utbildning under verksamheten

The volunteer will have an on-arrival and mid-term training provided by the Estonian National Agency. Every 10 weeks a meeting with all the volunteers and coordinators will take place in different parts of Estonia to evaluate the progress of the volunteering projects, to set goals, socialize and discover new locations in Estonia. Deltagarens profil

The candidate should be between 18 to 30 years old. We are looking for a person who is not only fun-loving but has the intrinsic motivation to form social bonds and care about the people he/she is really working for, the children. It is important that the volunteer feels like his/her work is less of an obligation and more of a motivated effort to help the children develop and self-actualize. It is preferable that the volunteer is used to an active lifestyle and feels comfortable in an outdoor setting and sports. Personal traits should be open-minded, active, supportive and patient.
