Beskrivelse af aktiviteten

This project will give you an opportunity to join our creative team at Kaņepes kultūras centrs (which in English directly translates to Hemp Culture Center, but everyone often call it for short - KKC), where you will be able to perform various tasks based on your skills and interests. KKC is an independent culture center aimed at providing a diverse range of cultural, entertainment and social events to locals and visitors of Riga, and it offers a wide range of activities and events, such as public discussions, social campaigns, exhibitions, concerts, poetry and prose readings, film screenings, workshops, and different kinds of performances. The volunteers assist in the daily cultural activities at KKC, disseminate information about the events around Riga, create content for the social media accounts of KKC, etc. Moreover, you will be encouraged to come up with your own ideas and initiatives to enrich the center's cultural programme and to improve any other aspects of our work.

The volunteers have an isolated room, as well as a kitchen and a bathroom with all the essential equipment, in a shared or individual flat not too far from the working place. You will be provided with a bicycle for going to work and to explore the city in your free time, and public transport costs for traveling between your flat and work will also be reimbursed. Each month, volunteers receive pocket money, as well as money for food.

Oplæring under aktiviteten

The volunteers are supervised and work alongside our experienced staff members who share their knowledge and skills. You can choose which fields of activities interest you the most and focus more on them to be able to learn as much as possible. With the assistance from our staff, you will also have the opportunity to develop your own initiatives, thus learning how to carry out a project step by step. In addition to that, KKC and its events offer an environment that always encourages curiosity, exchange of ideas, and learning.
