Who are we? : E-gençlik Association is a non-governmental youth organization that aims to encourage young people in different places to work voluntarily, to have active participation in civil social life, and to transfer their energy to social benefits via its webpage www.e-genclik.net and regional representatives.

Our History: E-gençlik association started on its way as e-gençlik.net Youth projects Ideas Platform in 2003. Since then, e-gençlik team has attended many national and international projects. They all gained numerous experiences, established new Networks and helped their personal Development grow. They started the institutionalizing process in the first quarter of 2007 and they became an institution in 2007 September.

Aims:
• To contribute in the formation of a youth that has self-confidence, entrepreneurship skills, that is able to find solutions fort he problems that s/he is surrounded with and that is sensible and aware.
• To encourage young people in voluntary activities and joining in civil society and also to turn the energy of youth into social advantages with our motto “Think young and create the change!”
• To provide consultation service in order to contribute young people’s personal development.
• To make socializing possible by putting “friendship” and “production” next to each other
• To create the necessary equipments that will prepare young people to social and economic life.
• To create opportunities and develop programmes that will make young people’ contribution in our world’s sustainability possible.
• To work together with NGOs by attending their social awareness programmes.

Our Structure; Any young person between 15-29 can be a member of e-gençlik.net. Our team consists of many university students both from Türkiye and other countries. Our centre is www.e-genclik.net web page. We gained our skills and experiences maybe not under e-gençlik.net, but via many different institutions that we have took part actively. Our team is a new but an experienced and strongly growing one.

E-Gençlik Association consists of young people that want to work under voluntary themes in different countries and cities through www.e-genclik.org.tr web page and regional representatives. Our main principles are respecting differences, transparency and accountability, importance on local development, team work, importance on education, entrepreneurship, partnership, facilitation and volunteering. Our general office is located in Bursa. We also have offices in Ankara and Istanbul that are established under projects.

Our Works; “5th World Youth Congress Türkiye 2010” It will take place in Türkiye between 31st July - 13th August 2010. It will be organized by a coalition of NGOs which is lead by E-Gençlik and hosted by Turkish Republic- Ministry of Education. 1000 young people from 120-150 different countries will meet in 2010 European Capital of Culture: Istanbul; and will prove their contribution in sustainable development under the theme of cooperation (collective work).

Gençlink: Youth Policies Network- It is a civil society network that brings NGOs which are working in different fields together. It aims to work as a cooperative platform that will affect the decision making processes, youth policies or even will create new ones and will support in application process of the new decisions and policies. E-gençlik Association is the national secretariat of Gençlink for the period between August 2008-August 2009.

Hope Talkers: (The Voice of Hope): It is a pilot Project that already started and will be pioneered by E-Gençlik association. It aims to widen visions of children of rural areas with some activities like extra lessons and some extra-curricular activities such as dancing, painting classes, theatre and drama courses and a variety of cultural games.
