Descrizione dell'organizzazione

NGO "Väike Jalajälg" represents intentional eco-community "Väike Jalajälg" (Small Footprint). Our main aim is to develop a community that is a holistic model of sustainability. Our main objective is to grow and develop a socially sustainable community, regenerate the land and reach out to the wider community. We are currently developing our training and visitor centre, organic gardens and social enterprises. In addition, we're renovating living and working areas for our members, visitors and community social enterprises - like the production of raw chocolate and seedlings. We have currently 12 adults and 9 children living on-site, plus frequent volunteers visiting.

We offer courses, events and volunteering opportunities for youth and adults (both on-site and online). These are mostly related to social and ecological sustainability (permaculture and gardening, sociocracy, non-violent communication and community building). For instance, we have co-hosted Gaia education courses in cooperation with the Estonian Ecovillage network for the past 6 years.

As a residential community, we develop everyday practices on all four aspects of sustainability - ecological, economical, social and world view. We are located in rural Estonia, 70 km from the capital Tallinn. The community was created in 2014 and we are taking care of 33 ha of land, including 27 ha of organic fields and orchards.
