The Armenian Red Cross Society is a non-profit organization, established based on the common interests of its members, the only National Society on the territory of the Republic of Armenia, which does not pursue any religious, political goals, is not affiliated with any political stream, and carries out its activities throughout the country. For implementing its authorized goals and objectives, ARCS has established regional, territorial, and community branches. Our overall goal is to prevent and alleviate human suffering, regardless of nationality, race, sex, religious beliefs, class, and political opinions. ARCS acts before, during, and after disasters and health emergencies to meet the needs and improve the lives of vulnerable people. Its strength lies in its volunteer network, community-based expertise, independence, and neutrality. ARCS works to improve humanitarian standards, as partners in development, and in response to disasters. The national society persuades decision-makers to act at all times in the interests of vulnerable people. Our main activities are as follows: response to disasters and emergency situations in Armenia due to the active engagement of Disaster Response Teams, provision of MHPSS support by psychologists, support the improvement of healthcare, public health awareness, and social services in Armenia, support the improvement of the social and economic situation of the displaced people, asylum seekers, and persons living in a refugee-like situation.
