A szervezet leírása

The "Grodzka Gate - NN Theatre" Centre is a municipal cultural institution with educational approach to memory and heritage. We help local community and guests to learn and remember local historical and cultural heritage connected with Polish-Jewish past of Lublin and the region, Lublin's history and urban development, traditions of printing and independent printing movement, important figures of its cultural and social life etc. In our activities we refer to the symbolic and historical significance of our residency, the City Gate, which was called the Jewish Gate when it was a passage from the Christian to the Jewish part of Lublin. We focus on developing local cultural identity by looking for valuable and interesting narrations communicated in traditional as well as modern and innovative ways that may engage contemporary recipients and appeal to their imagination. Among other things, our activities include gathering documentary data and using them in publishing, workshops, meetings, exhibitions, open air events etc.
