A szervezet leírása

Softball club Princ was founded in 1993. The original name of the club was “Princ – Dugave”, but the name was changed after we were granted a field within the Sport Center Jarun in Zagreb. Excellence, quality, commitment and love for this sport are the main characteristics of our club. From the very beginnings we were competing in European Cup competition, while in 1996 we competed for the first time at the European Cup Winners Cup in Haarlem, Netherlands. We are carrying the title of most successful softball club in Croatia. Our primary activity is organizing practices for four different age groups: Seniors (+14 years), Women Juniors/Men Juniors (15-19 years), Girl Cadets/Boy Cadets (12-15 years) and Youth (8-12 years). Apart from the regular training sessions that take place throughout the year, we regularly participate in European competitions where our members achieve great results. Also, for twelve consecutive years we organized an international tournament “Forever Fastpitch”, and the international tournament – “Ball Game”. For the last seven years we organized many summer camps: Zagreb Softball Camps for kids under 13 and a few Youth Exchanges. Besides providing regular softball and conditioning practices, the club also pays great attention to education of our players about a healthy lifestyle, making friendships across Europe and learning about new countries and cultures. We have organized several workshops about proper nutrition and recreational activities. Also, we have organized several international tournaments which gave our members a chance to meet players from other countries, create new friendships and learn about different cultures. We organize club meetings where we meet the parents and other family members to make them aware of this relatively unknown sport in which their children are involved and to include them in our activities developing a positive atmosphere for all of our members which also helps us to develop and grow as an organisation. We are situated in western part of the city with districts Špansko, Prečko, Rudeš, Knežija, where we have practices in gyms in a few different locations during the school year (September – May). During the season (April – October), we play at Jarun Sport Center, where we use two fields with lights. Our practices are in afternoon and evening hours, mostly after 17:00 because of school and work obligations. On weekends we have tournaments and games.
Our main objective is to assist youth in the adaptation of healthy habits that also constitute the fundamentals of the sporting life. We are developing teamwork through team sport and we organize sport camps, tournaments, ect. Thanks to our dedicated and passionate work we have accomplished great results so far. Achieved trophies and titles are only a small reflection of the effort required: 24 years as Croatian champions, 22 times we were winners of Croatian Cup, and our club has won all 17 Zagreb championships.
