A szervezet leírása

AFS is an international, voluntary, non-governmental, non-profit organization that provides intercultural learning
opportunities to help people develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to create a more just and peaceful
world.
Our core programs involve sending high school students abroad, hosting students from all over the world in the Czech
Republic and local and international volunteering. The programs run usually on trimester, semester or school year time. All
students attend a high school and study in hosting country language. All students live in host families who host students
without financial support.
AFS is volunteer based organisation, one of the biggest ones in the world. Our volunteers are the ambassadors of the
intercultural learning which they mostly gained by participating in AFS exchange programs. AFS volunteers are mostly youth
aged 16 to 30 but also include other age groups, actively participating in day-to-day AFS life as well in strategic plan on
local, national or international level.
AFS Mezikulturni programy in the Czech Republic has got about 200 active volunteers organized in the network of local
volunteer chapters whose essential contribution to AFS life make the organisation grow.
By proactively participating in organisational development AFS volunteers together with staff of 7 people help to promote
AFS mission, its core values and intercultural learning

Ez a szervezet tudja fogadni olyan önkéntesek jelentkezését, akik élethelyzetükből adódóan nehezebben tudnak részt venni a projekttevékenységekben. Az alábbiakban áttekinthető, hogy a különböző projekttípusoknál mely kategóriákba tartozó önkéntesek részvételét teszi lehetővé a szervezet:
