Opis organizacije

The Associação Teatro Construção (ATC) is a non-profit social and cultural organisation founded in 1977 in Joane, Vila Nova de Famalicão, Portugal. Since its creation, ATC has been dedicated to improving people’s lives and promoting community development through education, social care, culture and sport.
Our aim is to serve people of all ages and backgrounds, with a special focus on those facing poverty, exclusion or vulnerability. We believe that inclusion, solidarity and creativity are powerful tools for personal growth and social cohesion.
ATC’s activities cover a wide range of areas and target groups, including early childhood education (nursery, kindergarten, after-school care), educational support for children and young people, residential care for children at risk, services for people with disabilities (Centre for Activities and Capacitation for Inclusion), and senior programmes (Day Centre, Residential Home, Senior University). We also run a Cultural Centre, open to the community, which includes a theatre company and an Arts Academy, offering opportunities for artistic expression and intercultural dialogue. In sport, our Basketball Academy and athletics teams engage hundreds of young people in healthy lifestyles.
Through this diversity, ATC strives to build bridges between generations and cultures, fostering participation, equality and respect for human dignity.
