The municipal children's home in Aschaffenburg is a curative educational-therapeutic institution that cares for children and adolescents who are temporarily or permanently unable to live in their families. The aim of the institution is to board, support and accompany the residents until they can return to their families or until they are of legal age. This aim is supported by ESC volunteers, who come into the family-like therapeutic youth groups, by actively spending time with the children in daily activities, such as homework, free time, meal times and bed routines. The volunteers support the educational staff at the institution by simply being themselves and bringing their cultural background into play. The children can experience solidarity and the diversity of Europe through the volunteers.
