Jordan Youth Innovation Forum, founded in 2006, is a non-governmental organization hoping to change the life of Jordanian Youth for the better. We aim to empower the youngsters by giving them opportunities for self-growth and exploration. We provide training programs, leadership opportunities, and educational workshops for the youngsters of Jordan so they are fully equipped to solve their problems and grow in their professional life. Based in Amman, we have partners, collaborators, and volunteers from all over Jordan helping us in fulfilling our goals and connecting with youngsters at all levels.
Our Objectives:
• Youth Empowerment: Provide leadership opportunities and facilitate youth exchanges among the youngsters of all ages
• Youth Engagement: Arrange workshops and competitions where youngsters from different communities come together to solve a societal problem
• Capacity Building: Manage training programs for building soft skills among Jordanian youth.
• Social Inclusion and development: Actively engage youngsters of all communities in our activities, promote social projects at the ground level and facilitate youngsters in initiating their profit-based startups.
Our main target group is children and youngsters of age 5 to 25 years old. We are running several projects influencing different sections of this target group. Also, we are giving special attention to the vulnerable groups i.e. girls, refugees, and underprivileged.
Main Activities:
GAME Jordan
We are partnered with the GAME, an NGO based in Denmark, to organize sports sessions in GAME Zones throughout Jordan. These GAME sessions, which take place every week, feature practice games of basketball and football. Youngsters from various communities show up and play sports together. Volunteers, known as playmakers, convene the practice sessions and coach the youngsters.
Street Sports Incubator
There are many youngsters out there who want to bring about a positive change in society and create an impact. The youngsters have dreams and aspirations regarding their mission and plan but lack the resources and financial means to put their idea into effect. With Street Sports Incubator, we intend to change that. In Street Sports Incubator, we welcome youngsters who have ideas regarding business startups or social initiatives in street sports. We facilitate them, train them, provide incubation and give financial resources in the form of seed funds to turn their ideas into reality.
Jordan Talks
Youngsters often see the world as it should be, instead of as it is. They wish to share their ideas with others, and slowly change society. Jordan Talks provides a platform to empower those youngsters. Many youngsters have appeared so far in this event. Some have shared their success stories and inspired others, while others have shared their missions and gathered volunteers.
Time for Tea
With Time for Tea, we provide an opportunity for the youngsters to be heard by the decision-makers. Often the case of disappointment among the youth for the governments and decision-making bodies is that they don’t take input from the youngsters. Time of Tea aims to decrease that gap between youngsters and the decision-makers. In this activity, youngsters discuss a specific social issue and how it can be solved with a relevant person from the government over a cup of tea.
Erasmus+ Projects
We are an active part of the NGO community under Erasmus+. Since our first collaboration with Erasmus+ in 2013, hundreds of volunteers have represented Jordan in youth conferences and workshops all over the EU through the platform of JYIF, and continue to do so. We also regularly arrange Erasmus+ projects in Jordan which features active participation of youngsters from organizations abroad and find solutions to the problems that youth in the MENA countries are facing.
In addition to the above-mentioned activities, we regularly partner with other organizations or collaborate with youngster across the country to organize programs or workshops which align with our objectives. We recently partnered with Human Library and Get Included to share their ideas with the Jordanian Youth. We organized Model of OIC, Jordanian Model of UN, and Jordanian Model Arab League.
