Opis organizacije

Team for Youth Association activities center around several values ​​that have been formed over the years on the basis of our members' experience. These values ​​are: interculturality, volunteering, tolerance, team spirit and community involvement. Based on these beliefs, we have been committed to stimulating young people to develop through: volunteering, international mobility and access to non-formal education. The purpose of the association is to create activities designed to support us in our mission.
We have formed partnerships at local and international level that provide us with a suitable environment for recruiting, training and placing volunteers in projects with a wide variety of themes. We work on social issues (minorities, disadvantaged rural areas, orphans or young people without place of work), education (by combining formal education with non-formal), culture (intercultural presentations, knowledge games, quizzes, film evenings).

Looking at our local partnerships, we have signed partnerships with different high schools in Baia Mare (with a human profile - such as the Mihai Eminescu National College, but also technical ones such as Sincai National College and CD Nenitescu, where we cooperate with either foreign language teachers, geography or civic education teachers) and other educational institutions - kindergartens and primary schools. We collaborate with SPAS Baia Mare - especially with the "Romani Center" for Roma children and DGASPC MM especially family-type homes, we are implementing activities in 3 former orphanages in Baia Mare. Our volunteers have activities in these institutions, included in their weekly schedule, or support on-demand activities related to class or teachers interests, like one-time activities. They can also offer workshops on different topics according to the volunteer interests. We collaborate with the Baia Mare History and Archeology Museum, the Petre Dulfu County Library as well as entertainment venues (restaurants, caffees) in the city for our public dissemination events. With Constantin Opris County Hospital, we collaborate in the pediatric department where international volunteers make socio-educational animation for children with mild illness, bringing fun in their time in the hospital. On the physiotherapy side, volunteers are involved with the physiotherapist in weekly activities at a day center, along with children with Down Syndrome. At Rivulus Dance, volunteers work individually with one child with Down Syndrome, through dance therapy, ensuring that the child makes all movements in a correct series, to the physiotherapist's specifications. We work closely with other associations (NGOs) in Baia Mare where our volunteers can hold workshops on different themes. We also have long-lasting partnerships with institutions in rural areas around our city where we organize clubs or language workshops to promote volunteering and promote intercultural dialogue. Recently, we have re-started the organization of international camps in rural areas, implemented by international volunteers, aiming to facilitate rural children's access to non-formal education, volunteering and people from outside the country.
Our international partners (other associations) have representatives known to us face to face on various occasions (training courses, study visits, youth exchanges or other international projects). Our partners come mainly from the EU (countries such as Austria, Italy, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, France, Greece, Bulgaria and Hungary) and also we cooperate with South-Mediterranean partners and the Balkan region, Belarus and Turkey. With international partners, we collaborate annually on youth exchanges or on mobility for youth workers as well as on volunteering (sending and hosting volunteers with old EVS).
