Opis organizacije

The Chernivtsi Museum of the History and Culture of Bukovynian Jews provides our visitors with the information about the history of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna focusing on the Jewish history. Our team organizes guided tours in the museum for pupils and students from local educational institutions not only to teach them historical facts, but also to teach them how to be tolerant and understanding, not to judge people because of their ethnicity or confession and show them that we are responsible for the creation of a tolerant society to live in. By attending our permanent exhibition, mobile exhibitions or events like workshops and seminars vistors can discover the Jewish art, traditions and everyday life. Furthermore, for the past couple of years our museum realized the projects, including educational one, which has the goal to teach pupils about the Holocaust in Bukovyna by using a new approach. The result of this project is a graphic novel, which presents the Holocaust events in a more understandable way for a younger generation. Our museum is attended by people from all over the world, some of them look for information about their relatives, who were born or lived in the region, sometimes we manage to help them find some data.
