No Border, an ONLUS association active since 2004, works towards promotion of the following categories: SOCIAL TOURISM (& Hostelling ), Interculture (& Antiracism), Sustainability (& Recycle and Reuse). No Border ( No Border Line ONLUS/ NBL) is an association active in the provinces of Rome and Milan, subcribed since 2008 at the Regional register of volunteer organizations/cultural section of the Lazio region.
No Border develops action related to the multiplication of interactions between people coming from diverse contexts and cultures, that works toward racism prevention, environmental devistation, and war. No Border proposes a variety of useful auto-formation courses that serve in order to share knowledge though projects and workshops, working particularly in promoting the wiser use of new technology and networks. No Border has activated numerous auto-financed projects or projects realised with the support of programs such as the Youth in Action Program and the Local Youth Plan in the province of Rome.
The association continually plays role as a protagonist in auto-formation workshops relating to true finalizand the currently ongoing projects and action. In January 2015, No Border participated in the Winter Camp at Patchanka Academy (as host), one week dedicated to the union of associations part of the Patchanka network, where dozens of volunteers had the possibility to share their cability to design and organize meetings and a variety of presentations taking a deeper look at the local territory took place. No Border is protagonist in the activation of a SOCIAL TOURISM and hostelling project called Wiki Hostel (WIKI HOSTEL & GREENVILLAGE // www.wikihostel.it) an international hostel located in Zagarolo-Roma prized in 2012 and 2013 with the prestigious recognition of the "Hi-5ives Award" where it was noted as one of the top five hostels in the world. In 2013 and 2014 it won TripAdvisor's Certificate of Excellence, along with the well-deserved recognition of being part of the "Zagarolo Pro Locals" group in 2013, as well as the "City of Zagarolo" ( for having contributed in our territory in the international environment).
Inside Wiki Hostel visitors can find many true hostelling activities taking place every year, oriented towards the local community and travellers coming from all over the world. In 2010, No Border was the association of territorial reference (Zone 4) for the Youth Forum in the Province of Rome. On a local level, No Border was developed many partnerships and collaboration over the years, thanks to their active participation in cultural activities within the local community and youth associations of the area. No Border has therefore collaborated with the following networks and institutions: The European Union, the Province of Rome, the City of Zagarolo, Volunteer Centers in Lazio Cesv-Spes, the Volunteer House of the Roman castles, elementary and high schools in the area (Zagarolo, Cave). Cultural and youth associations, as well as informal groups in the area who have also created collaborations with No Border are: Lam'da, Do-Mani, Nel Nome del Rock, Controcorrente, Lunaria, Binario Etico, Scambiamento, Dad, and many others. Moreover the association is developing a concert with the Alps Yard and other associations of the Patchanka network, a territorial development agency. The agency develops a twofold modality intervention. From one side, it favours networking between subjects promoting social and intercultural tourism, first being with hostels, all over the world, from the other, developing a territorial intervention in an area extending from the Roman Castles and the Prenestini Hills, parting from Zagarolo, Wiki Hostel office, a hostel of excellence managed by the No Border Association. The agency has the objective to promote relations between other associations and organizations of the tertiary sector responsible for social tourism through the creation of: promotion calling for volunteers, job shadowing, job exchange, workaway and workcamp, exchange, and the confrontation of good practices and communicative and participative infrastructures useful for strengthening visibility of these experiences.
