Sigulda district Youth Center is established and subordinated from Sigulda municipality. Youth Center is implementing differents interest education programs and free time activities for 7-25 years old children and youth.
Youth Center aims:
• to create an environment to promote each child and young person's harmonious personality formation and development;
• be on support for children, young people and their parents;
• offer varied programs of interest education and non-formal types of education;
• organize preventive work with children and young people;
• promote children and young people responsible attitude to yourself, family, peers, the country and the highest moral values;
Youth Center basic is focused on education of interest and non formal education.
Youth Center main tasks:
• develop and implement educational programs in accordance with the interests of the public demand;
• analyze the situation of work with children and young people - studied in children and young people's interests and needs and development opportunities;
• plan, organize and implement the work with children and young people - leisure time, promotion of healthy lifestyles, promotion of employment, youth participation in society promotion;
• the development of children and youth support and development programs;
• To promote youth participation in the implementation of various projects;
• to organize a network of youth policy realization of the participating country, local authorities and non-governmental organizations;
• promote Sigulda Youth Council work;
• promote students' self-governments work Sigulda educational institutions;
• To provide an opportunity for children and young people to acquire knowledge and skills that prepare them for active participation in society, to contribute to decision-making skills and the ability to take responsibility;
• regulate Youth Center and other educational implementation process of the persons involved, and to determine their rights and obligations, as well as to create conditions for creative, comprehensively educated personalities, profession, continuous guidance in social and public life;
• choose teaching and educational methods and forms of the child and young person as a whole, harmonious development;
• rational use of financial, material, personnel and information resources.
Youth Center work is based on intellectual freedom and democracy, humanism, scientificity, individual approach and systematic principles of active cooperation with the learners' parents (guardians) county authorities and nongovernmental organizations.
The target audience is children and young people aged 7 to 25 years.
