The Municipality of Robertsfors is a small municipality on the eastern coast of the northern parts of Sweden. The municipality facilitates a large amount of different services to its inhabitants, whom are the main target group of the municipality. There are over 600 individuals that are employed by the municipality and they are distributed between all of the different public services and other functions, such as health care, education, infrastructure and so on. Our main goal is to provide the best possible service which in turn will help the society as large to thrive. Aside from the local level we also work at a regional and national level, mostly through large partnerships or projects. We have a tight cooperation with other municipalities in our immediate vicinity because of the shared labor market we have. Furthermore, we also have fair amount of international cooperation with other cities and counties, for example through twinning.The volunteers will (with the support of several different actors) work with reducing the social unsafety within the junior high school in the municipality of Robertsfors. The volunteers would work with creating meaningful activity within the school from an area in the school that several youths have experienced as unsafe because of its “void of activities”. Together with their tutor, the volunteers would have sort of a cafeteria in this area as well as hosting/arranging other activities and events. By combining different activities in the school during the time where several youths today engage in unmeaningful activities because of the lack of anything else, we believe that the volunteers and the school together could make the school feel safe once again.
