Children and Youth Association "Liepājas Jaunie Vanagi" was founded in 1993. It operates on the basis of the statutes, unites 182 children and young people aged 5 to 30, from large and low-income families, young people from the social risk group and other children and young people both in Liepaja and other cities of Latvia. The goal of LJV is to promote and defend the rights and interests of children and youth. Promoting the development of active, creative youth. While working in "Liepājas Jaunajos Vanagos", children and young people have the opportunity to: Realize their ideas; Participate in various non-formal education trainings in Latvia and in the world; Participate in various activities, camps, international exchanges, as well as become a leader of camps and international exchanges. The members of the association have set as their goals: involvement of various young people in their activities; cooperation with other youth organizations; lifestyle without alcohol and drugs; meaningful leisure time; participate in local and international projects.
In 2007 and 2011, LJV was recognized as the best association in Liepaja. In 2018, the association received a thank you from Liepāja City Council for a significant contribution to the personal development of children and youth and the organization of free time. The head of the association received the award "Liepaja of the Year 2013" for the active operation of the association and the establishment of an integration center in Liepaja.
