A szervezet leírása

Diakonia Kościoła Ewangelicko-Augsburskiego w RP (Polish Diakonia) is a legal charity organization interested in different forms of helping people in need. Diakonia of the Church is an organization, that serves other diakonian institutions on the level of diocese or parish, by :
-recognizing of new areas of the social work
-education of coworkers and volunteers
-giving help to the dysfunctional families
-taking care of the elderly, disabled, ill people
-cooperation with the local governments, foundations and other institutions
-cooperation with the other diakonian (charity) organizations on the ecumenical field
-fundraising and project management
The institutions within the frame of the Polish Diakonia are: care houses, diaconal stations, rehabilitation equipment lending points, socio-therapeutic clubs, kindergartens, schools.
We can distinguish three different target groups: the elderly people, disabled, youth and children.
We can offer them professional help and interesting projects:
-lonely, elderly and ill people (there are Nursing Homes; rehabilitation holidays)
-disabled people (all ages) - rehabilitation, holidays, excursion, therapy, education and rehabilitation;
-children with special needs (a socio-therapeutic common club for children with learning difficulties, children in care by court order, children from pathology families; yearly program - Christmas Assistance for Children)
-young people - voluntary service in foreign countries (Diakonia is a member organization of Ecumenical Diaconal Year Network since 1998 and EVS Coordinating organization since 2000); diaconal study abroad
-people in need - there are social stations by parishes, they cooperate with the social authorities in the towns (helping the old and ill people at their own homes, hospice activity, ambulance-efforts).
Diakonia organizes different courses, seminars for social, charity skills.
Polish Diakonia is a member of Eurodiaconia since 2003. Since July 2006 Polish Diakonia has the state status of "Public Benefit Activity" which is the sign of trust and appreciation of the work led by our organization. Since the year 1998 we are actively involved in the international voluntary service prorammes.
