Venta Regional Park is a preserved territory in North-western part of Lithuania. The purpose of it is to protect and maintain landscape of Venta valleys, its natural eco-system and values of cultural heritage, nurture them and use rationally, as well as create the conditions for relaxation and cognitive purposes. Venta Regional Park is unique by its geological structure. Only here you can see the rocks of mysterious Jurassic Period, touch the remains – fossils – of animals that lived in dinosaur era by your own hands. Papilė exposures are also unique and have a value in World scientific range.
Directorate staff:
1. Organizes, participates in the preparation and implementation of regional park landscape, cultural heritage protection and research programs in order to preserve, manage and rationally use the most valuable natural complexes and objects.
2. Carries out an inventory of landscape, natural and cultural heritage values, controls their condition in the park territory, plans and organizes research work.
3. Organizes cognitive, recreational, educational activities of the regional park and publishing and distributing information publications in their field.
