A szervezet leírása

Slovene Philanthropy Association for Promotion of Volunteering is a humanitarian no-nogernment organisation working in public interest since 1992. Our programmes are aimed to raise the quality of living in the community and advocating for the vulnerable groups in the society. Our central activity is the promotion of volunteering - we believe that with volunteering, we can all contribute to a better and more tolerant society, which is based on respect towards everyone, no matter their personal or objectiove circumstances. We promote cohesion of different sectors. Our vision is an open, just and solidary society that - throught the partnership and cooperation of public institututions, the business sector and voluntary activities of citizens - offers a stimulation environment to all - even those, who are, due to various circumstances, unable to provide quality of life for themselves and their families.
We've been actively responding to social problems for the past 30 years, encouraging and developing volunteer work and intergenerational cooperation, acting in the area of migration, helping the vulnerable and advocating for human rights. Our 5 programme units are; migration, intergenerational cooperation, pro-bono clinic, volunteering and international cooperating. We're entering the fields that the government institutions don't cover, or at least not enough. We're helpint the refugees, unaccompanied minors, homeless and other persons with no basic health insurance, elderly and different vulnerable groups.
Our main projects are:
- Slovene volunteering network (over 1800 volunteering organisations are included)
- Intergenerational cooperation (Intergenerational Houses "Fruits of society" in Murska Sobota, Žalec, Črnomelj, Metlika, Logatec)
- Daily centres for migrants and refugees (LJubljana, Maribor)
- International cooperation and help
- Volunteering service
- Surpul food
- Crises situation responding (migration, covid...)
Due to social destratification more and more areas that need extra engagement of volunteer and society accure - so we respond. We advocate the values: solidarity, respect towards all people and nature, equality, tolerance and equal opportunities for all.
