Beschrijving van de organisatie

La Pommeraie is a non profit-making organisation working for people with a disability. La Pommeraie has a big center in the village of Ellignies Sainte Anne where approximately 200 disabled adults (residents) live. Also, there are workplaces for the residents in several locations in and around the village of Ellignies Sainte-Anne. We have a farm, where the residents do gardening and take care of the animals. There are also several workshops (ironwork, art, crafts, balneotherapy,...) that the residents can attend as well as a shop where they can work too.

Our goals are the wellbeing and to accompany adults with a disability throughout their life, to put in place a structure, by every means, to reach their needs and their aspirations. To treat them with kindness.

Our values should help the residents to develop and to blossom. In order to reach those goals, we try to think out and anticipate each of our actions.

Throughout the year, we organise several events inside our center for our residents, their families as well as for other visitors. All of that in order to include the residents in the life of the so called "normal" people. These events are for exemple a Film Festival (Pom' d'Or) that we organize in November every year. The goal of this event is to value the talent of the persons with a disability. They are asked to make short movies and they are shown to the public during this event.
