Monnikenheide-Spectrum provides different services to support children and adults with a mental disability and other extra problems (like behavioural problems, physical disorders, autism, sensorial problems, …).
We created different houses where the residents can stay and realise their own environment together with the other clients in the household. Some of the houses are situated in the centre of the locale community (with a cluster in and around Zoersel and another one around Wuustwezel), while the houses for specialised care are concentrated on the campus in Zoersel or Wuustwezel. In these houses we assure 24/7 care.
In our activity centres more than 100 extra clients participate in a large range of activities that focus on creativity, production (like semi industrial jobs, working on the field, bakery, …), sports, … We offer them an interesting and useful day in an environment that focus on customized care.
In the short stay home children and adults can spend some nice holidays which give the parent at home some space to come to rest or to deal with problems (I.e. illness of the parents, hospitalisation, …)
Every day more than 300 clients make use of our services.
We support them with a team of 280 staff member and 50 volunteers.
