MISSION: “To operate in the solidarity-field to safeguard the rights and the dignity of a person in social disease through valorization and promotion of voluntary work culture and without distinction between people of different cultures, nationalities and religion.To offer assistance, company and to give help in need and, on the other hand, to respect personal liberty and the priorities of the citizens.To stimulate the net-working through support and the activism of the interested sources on the local territory, promoting the education to solidarity and to active citizenship.To offer service, 24 hours a day, to take care about ourselves, the others and the environment which surrounds us with the courage to break schemes, modify habits and upset, overturn routines”.The association was born in 1999 from a group of volunteers which began to go, in the evening, to the gardens of the railroad station, to get in contact with drug addicted people, people without a place to sleep and people that live in need.Over the years the activities of the association increased and with them even the structure. Although principles as the importance of voluntary work (without it the association couldn’t lead all the activities), the defense of personal dignity and rights and the assistance in every moment to everybody who needs without any distinction, have always remained central points of our project.We follow the procedure of ASSISTANCE – LISTENING – ACCOMPANYING:• Assistance: To help to provide sustenance and clothing and other primary needs.• Listening: To get in touch with their daily routine , creating a form of communication to understand their real needs , to be able to work for their integration.• Accompanying: To lead projects that work for the development of integration and through the partnership with social services.The association works with around 100 staff members and 200 volunteers in all the province of Alto Adige-Südtirol. It activates even projects of Civil Service, stage and social work instead of imprisonment."Volontarius Onlus" works mainly thanks to public funds, in structures and mobile units. The association helps homeless people, refugees and migrants, low income families, young people with social difficulties.
