A szervezet leírása

Fondazione Giuseppe Antonio Galignani is a NGO established on the 27th February 2004 due to the privatisation of the previous public service and charity institution called “Ente Galignani”. The second article of the Foundation statute defines the social purposes of its tasks:“…public interest and social solidarity dealing with education, training and promotion of better life conditions for children and adolescents. In order to achieve its purposes the Foundation offers its social community various activities (targeted interventions and specific services), human and cultural resources, professional, organizational and cognitive skills. All these are related to childhood and adolescence distress, to its prevention and to rehabilitation issues including families aspects concerning the various manifestations of distress”.

The main activities are:
- Youth Centre: it’s open in two timeslots: from Monday to Friday between 14.00 to 18.00 and from 20.00 to 23.00. In the first part of each afternoon a space for homework and study is planned for children of lower secondary school and primary. Here they can prepare their school week helped by educators, volunteers and other peers. In the second part of the afternoon they practice recreational activities and creative workshops. In the evening it is attended by young people who organize musical events, cinema, theme nights

It is also responsible for the design and organisation of educational and professional Guidance meetings in secondary schools, of sexual-affective trainings in intermediate schools, of consulting and trainings for youth leaders and parents, of participation to programming and monitoring groups, of organising sport tournaments and youth and popular festivals.

The aim of the foundation is to work first of all with minors, adolescents and their families, but also to "promote better conditions of adolescence and childhood life involving the entire community (public and private institutions that affect the social context within which children and adolescents live and act)”.
