The Görgey Utcai Óvoda operates in upholding the city since 1980.
The kindergarten located near the Nagyerdő (Great Forest) and University of Debrecen in a quiet, wooded setting residential area.
In 8 group of 215 children's upbringing is possible. 17 professionally well-trained graduated teacher, 7 nurses and three technical assistants deal with the children.
The kindergarten is designed to help children aged 3-7 in a colourful and harmonious development of the child's personality unfold.
The child's interest, curiosity, building age characteristics of varied activities, preparing for school life.
The kindergarten has its own education program, in which learning by doing pedagogy has an important role as well as environmental education, environmental protection and individual development. Our institute received 3 times the ’Green Kindergarten’ title.
Health education is important us too. On the preventive basis, a salt room developed that functions as a playing field. Our kindergarten has a gym equipped with many kinds of tools.
The kindergarten is in a very good relation with the neighbouring institutions and cooperative partner organisations. (National Park of Hortobágy, Open-air School, Vojtina Puppet Theatre).
Also important for us the good relationship with the parents, because education can only be truly successful together.
We regularly organize joint programs with them, excursions, for example: Autumn Carnival, Mother's Day, Charitable Garden Party, Open Day.
Our kindergarten is a host organization of the community service for young people of the high schools. So many ex-kindergartner students come back to helping and supporting in our programmes.
In 2005, our co-worker community was awarded the award of „FOR THE PUBLIC EDUCATION OF DEBRECEN" for the high-level education at our kindergarten.
We believe that the arriving volunteers will join in a colourful community and they will be enriched with many new experiences.
