Erasmus student network Croatia is an independent, non-profit, student, volunteer, apolitical, non-governmental and non-religious legal entity with the aim of promoting, developing and improving student exchanges and actions in the interest of domestic and international students who conduct part of their formal higher education and training outside their home country. The association is committed to improving international education and provides opportunities for young people
self-development by encouraging intercultural understanding and creating positive changes in society. Through our work and action, we promote values ​​such as unity in diversity, diversity in unity, emphasizing our common goal: to work to improve conditions for the current and future users of the exchange and work in the interest of young people who are part of their vocational education spend on mobility in a country other than the one where their home institution is located.
Also, the Erasmus student network is working on internationalization at home while enabling opportunities for non-mobile students and young people to experience international exchange in their environment.
The national level of ESN Croatia consists of members of the National Board and Board Support. Each member is responsible for one part of the organisation according to their position. Their task descriptions are a part of the Standing Orders of ESN Croatia.
ESN started as one big ESNbuddy programme - ESNbuddy is a project that aims to assign incoming Erasmus students with an "ESNbuddy" who is a local student willing to help an exchange student to get up on their feet in their first weeks in a new country. Our goal was to help foreign students with their first steps in our hometowns. ESN is the first contact you have with your Erasmus country and it is a trusted organisation supported by universities all over Europe, and so in Croatia. Buddy is a person that helps with accommodation if needed, someone who can show students the city, someone to introduce to all the best places to visit and to see, someone to introduce to all the activities that the local ESN section organises.
The goals of ESN Croatia as the national organisation are: mobility of youth - going beyond the Erasmus + program, promoting and informing about all programs, opportunities and types of mobility, concentrating on mobility in terms of concept rather than on a specific program, using culture (multiculturalism, language tandem, cooking tandem, etc.) to promote; The impact of volunteerism on the professional development of young people and their employability; Social inclusion - educating sections on the concept, encouraging sections to promote their events as accessible to all; Sport and health; Culture - cultural heritage, cultural tourism
Croatian Communication Committee is a support body of ESN Croatia in charge of communication on the national level. Its members answer to the National Communication Manager, who is also the Main Chair of the Committee, and support them in their daily tasks. CROmCom helps with creating content for social media and the website of ESN Croatia but also supports the local sections in those fields if they need any kind of assistance, from advice to helping with the content creation. The Committee’s structure consists of the Chairing Team and three smaller teams: Graphics, Social Media, and IT Team. As already mentioned, the National Communication Manager is the Main Chair and is responsible for supervising the work of the whole Committee. The other members of the Chairing Team are the Vice-Chair, who is managing the Graphics and Social Media Team, and the National Webmaster, who is in charge of the IT Team.
