Opis organizácie

The Balkan Youth Festival „Youth of the Balkans“ (BYF) is a non-government organization founded in 2005, that works with young people directly involved in its activity. We organize the festival annually with the motto „The Balkan Youth Today – Future for Europe Tomorrow!”

The main goal of BYF is to promote the striving of young people from Bulgaria, the Balkans and Europe to get to know each other, exchange information, broaden their contacts in the plethora of interests and problems, skills and opportunities for expression and cooperation.

Target group of the organization: The organization's activities are focused on young people (students, young artists, young employed and unemployed) youth leaders, volunteers in youth organizations, NGOs, local public institutions and media.

We are convinced that by provoking young people's active interest in the issues of this region and their ideas for overcoming them, we are creating a new spirit and a new approach in the process of development and integration with United Europe. BYF is the biggest forum of the „Youth of the Balkans“ for cooperation and understanding of young people from the countries where disagreement has been the basis of relations.

This motivates to anually include young people from all of Bulgaria and several Balkan and European countries to take part in the preperation and implementation of the festival. BYF is an accredited organization to sending, hosting and coordinating EVS volunteers. For the period from 2009 – 2014 we successfully implement short and long term group EVS projects, involving 126 European volunteers as hosting and coordinating organisation. We sent more than 20 Bulgarian youngsters as EVS volunteers in over 10 countries. Our volunteers are 18 - 30 years old.
