Beschrijving van de organisatie

Ijgd sind ein gemeinnütziger Verein für internationale Jugendarbeit und politische Bildung. Ijgd wurde nach dem zweiten Weltkrieg von einer Gruppe von Schülern und Lehrern als gemeinnützige Organisation gegründet. Seit 1949 sind wir bundesweit als anerkannter, freier Träger der internationalen Bildungsarbeit tätig. Mit seiner Arbeit will ijgd das Bewusstsein von Jugendlichen für soziale Umstände schärfen und ihr Gefühl für soziale Verantwortung stärken. Die Arbeit von ijgd beinhaltet deswegen schwerpunktmäßig die Unterstützung von internationaler Verständigung und den Abbau von Vorurteilen zwischen Menschen aus verschiedenen Nationen, sozialen Hintergründen, Religionen und politischen Orientierungen.
Wir haben langjährige Erfahrung in der Organisation von Freiwilligenarbeit. ijgd organisiert internationale Workcamps, Jugendbegegnungen, Jugendfreizeiten in Europa und Übersee und bundesweite Aus- und Fortbildungsseminare. Außerdem ist ijgd Träger des Bundesfreiwilligendienstes, des Freiwilligen Sozialen Jahres, des Freiwilligen Ökologischen Jahres, des Freiwilligen Jahres in der Denkmalpflege und des Europäischen Solidaritätskorps.

Der Landesverein Brandenburg e.V. hat einen besonderen Schwerpunkt in sozialer, ökologischer und denkmalpflege-orientierter Arbeit. Seit 1998 führt der Verein bereits das FSJ im Ausland durch und war seit 1996 auch an der Umsetzung des Europäischen Freiwilligendiensts beteiligt. Im Jahr 2009 erweiterte ijgd Brandenburg sein Angebot, indem es an der Seite des langfristigen Freiwilligendienstes zur Erhaltung und Wiederherstellung von Denkmälern ein neues, international ausgerichtetes Programm mit Schwerpunkt auf historischen Parks und Gärten in der Region und im Ausland als Arbeitsfeld für Freiwillige installierte - die Internationale Jugendbauhütte Gartendenkmalpflege. Seit 2010 organisiert diese Jugendbauhütte das ESK-Programm.

Auf Bundesebene ist ijgd Mitglied des DPW - Deutscher Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband, der Gesellschaft für internationale und politische Bildung, der Alliance of European Voluntary Service Organisations, des IJAB – internationaler Jugendaustausch und Besucherdienst der Bundesrepublik Deutschland und des AdB – Arbeitskreis deutscher Bildungsstätten.

Ijgd is a non-profit association for international youth work and political education. Ijgd was founded as a non-profit organization by a group of students and teachers after Second World War. We have been active as a nationalwide recognized, independent provider of international educational work since 1949. With its work, ijgd wants to raise young people's awareness of social circumstances and strengthen their sense of social responsibility. The work of ijgd therefore focuses on the support of international understanding and the breaking down of prejudices between people from different nations, social backgrounds, religions and political orientations.

We have many years of experience in organizing volunteering. Furthermore ijgd organizes international work camps, youth encounters, youth camps in Europe and overseas and nationwide training and advanced training seminars. Ijgd is responsible for the Federal Voluntary Service, the Voluntary Social Year, the Voluntary Ecological Year, the Voluntary Year in Monument Preservation and the European Solidarity Corps.

The Landesverein Brandenburg e.V. has a special focus on social, ecological and monument preservation-oriented work. The association carry out the FSJ-abroad since 1998 and has also been involved in the implementation of the European Voluntary Service since 1996. In 2009 ijgd Brandenburg expanded its offer by installing a new, internationally oriented program alongside the long-term voluntary service - the International Jugendbauhütte Gartendenkmalpflege. This service is focused on the preservation and restoration of monuments in historical parks and gardens in the region and abroad as a field of work for volunteers. This Jugendbauhütte has been organizing the ESK program since 2010.

At the federal level, ijgd is a member of the DPW - Deutscher Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband, the society for international and political education, the Alliance of European Voluntary Service Organisations, the IJAB - internationaler Jugendaustausch und Besucherdienst der Bundesrepublik Deutschland and the AdB - Arbeitskreis deutscher Bildungsstätten.
