Beschrijving van de organisatie

Social Welfare Home (Dom Pomocy Społecznej) in Gdynia is intended for 79 people. There are 52 places for elderly people and 27 places for chronically somatically ill people in the age from 48 to 101 from the city of Gdynia. We are an organizational unit of the city of Gdynia. The house was built in 2010, it is a unique place with garden for a good life for its residents. There are 17 places in 3-4 people rooms and rest of 1-2 people's room. Social Welfare Home contains a large canteens, a day room, rehabilitation room, occupational therapy and a chapel.
We look after and nurture people who are unable to function independently due to their age, illness or disability for 24
hours. The house and its surroundings are adapted to the needs of the disabled and have no architectural barriers.
We employ 67 workers with various specializations. These are therapists, social workers, psychologists, speech therapist, nurses, physiotherapists. In addition, willing volunteers come to help.
The department provides 24/7 care and assistance in basic life activities (e.g. feeding, cleaning) also we are dealing with some personal matters,trying keeping in touch with family and local environment.
We provide our carres with:
-wide range of activities, various circles of interest,
-provide physical and therapeutic rehabilitation
-social activation
-horticultural therapy
-meetings of Senior Club in our Social Welfare Home
-participation in activities of organisation „Słoneczna Jesień" next to SWH
