The Opera Santa Rita Foundation (www.operasantarita.it) , a part of the bishopric of Prato, has been working in the social-educational and social-care branches for more than 90 years. The Foundation works mainly with minors and adults living social disavantages, disability issues and family discomfort.The Foundation pursues the objective of giving them an effective assistance in order to guarantee them a satisfactory in society. The Foundation also carries out healthcare assistance for disabled minors and youngsters to promote their rehab and the development of their skills. The Foundation helps the families of the users and listening to their needs. "Opera Santa Rita" Onlus is now cooperating with Prato and Pistoia authorities and is able to offer different kind of services. We are now assisting about 520 users, our co-workers are about 150.
Following are the main structures and services offered by the Foundation:
-2 Daily centres dedicate to minors living family and social distress.
-3 Residential care structures for minors living social disavantage.
-1 Facility which provides accomodation for single mothers.
-2 Residential structures for students or workers living social hardship.
-1 Residential structure for people living social and psychological unease.
-1 Daily centre for people suffering from autism.
-1 Residential care structure for people suffering from autism.
-1 Daily centre for deseabled.
-1 Residential care structure for deseabled.
According to the local laws and rules, since April 2011 the Foundation has been handling the first reception and first assistance to immigrants coming from North-Africa. The first help and reception services are carried out in 5 different structures. The Foundation is now helping about 250 refugees.
