Descrizione dell'organizzazione

Diggie is a children's farm and socio cultural organisation, located in a beautiful rural area in Flanders. We organise inclusive youth work for all children and youngsters, with or without a disability, with or without a vulnerable background. The youth work includes farm camps, volunteer weekends, the organisation of an annual Diggiefest... The young volunteers are involved in every part of the organisation. The members of the board of directors are all between 18 en 27 years old.
We operate a youth centre, with 41 beds, where we welcome schools, youth work groups, family groups... We provide farm workshops for the groups such as baking bread in the wood oven, making felt out of the wool of our sheeps... Diggie runs a project for adults with special needs. They come on a daily basis to work on the farm and they need to be accompanied by other volunteers or a member of the professional team.
Besides, Diggie has several cooperations with partner organisations which lead to time-out projects, participation projects...The aim of Diggie is to counteract alienation between people and nature and people themselves. For this goal, Diggie is a meeting point where people with all different backgrounds can meet each other, and play and work together. The starting point is that everyone is welcome to participate. We have a strong focus on learnig by doing, inclusion and sustainability.
