AELV is a non-profit association. The mission of this association is to exchange individuals, mostly young people, in the EU and third countries, to promote training, support and technical expertise, artistic and cultural activities, social and political awareness, as well as to put them in contact with institutions, companies and other entities to encourage the integration of these individuals in the labour market. The purpose of AELV is to promote awareness based on training and knowledge of other cultures, as well as to promote other activities consistent with the conservation of nature and the promotion of sustainable development. Because we are convinced that the best strategy for the conservation of nature and culture is to promote sustainable development through education. We are located in Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz) and Jerez de la Frontera, although we carry out our activities throughout Andalusia. AELV since its foundation in 1998 has participated in the Leonardo da Vinci mobility programme and has been improving its management system in both sending and receiving volunteers, participating in conferences and seminars as an example of good management and quality of mobility programmes. We have participated in several projects on environmentally friendly agriculture, building a strong network of organisations related to agriculture and the environment. We have a permanent staff of 5 people, a team of well-trained professionals in different areas. Since its beginnings AELV has collaborated in the design, planning and execution of the Leonardo da Vinci programmes, European Voluntary Services developed by FENPA (Federation of Natural Protected Spaces of Andalusia), giving first-hand information to new participants in mobility programmes, as well as collaborating in the reception of young Europeans who have developed their programme in Andalusia. We are a sending and hosting organisation since 1998, we have sent about 70 participants and received about 100 per year. We also advise on the development of European projects to different City Councils such as Jerez and Arcos de la Frontera and other organisations such as the association of municipalities of Sierra de Cádiz.
