Reformed Chuch Tornyospalcas is new in Erasmus+, however the actual pastor of the congregation has served in Germany as a volunteer and has also personal experiences about voluntary service.

We think:
- Voluntary service can provide a unique intercultural experience;
- Erasmus + volunteering can provide a unique learning path both for volunteers and local organisation;
- Involving young people from other cultures into our activities will increase European awareness and provides unique learning opportunities
- Volunteer(s) joining us will have an excellent opportunity to get to know the social system of Hungary and will have a direct insight to a community based organisation which is focusing to support families (church members) and the work of the diaconia center.
- The example of a volunteer can bring a positive input for our staff and local young people.
- We especially need this input of new approaches and enthusiasm for the local volunteers.

The Reformed Church in Tornyospálca considers the diaconal service very important, so we have established the ÁLDÁS Reformed Diakonia Center. Under the leadership of the diaconal center, a day-care center for 50-seat elderly people was formed, social catering and in-home assistance at the settlement. Today, we have 150 full-time employees and helpers, about 600 elderly people. We can provide 1600 people with a hot lunch each day. Recently our social kitchen service has begun, which will help the needy of 13 townspeople to help. In addition to the elderly, we also deal with young people, nursery groups and kindergartens where other children from six other settlements will be present. There are 19 settlements in the institution's supply area where we provide meals. Our dreams do not end there, because our big plan is a disabled day-care; start a psychiatric day care service; the establishment of further nursery groups; perform Roma missionary activities as teachers; as well as the further development of kitchens are among our goals.
The Hungarian Reformed Church Aid Foundation (MRSZ) offers a 60-80 people a job at the Tornyospálca Reformed Church. Our employees work in different fields: for example in the care of churches, parishes, church buildings, institutions, in the orderly and clean keeping of the cemetery, in social areas, in catering: lunch, driving, helping the kitchen workers, kitchen gardens and educational institutions.
