Opis organizacije

The Centre for education "Slava Raškaj" Zagreb has already more than 135 years of experience in rehabilitation and education of students with hearing and speech disabilities and children with communication difficulties. The Center is in the system of the Ministry of Demography, Youth, Family and Social Policy, and our students come from all over the Croatia. The Centre has over 100 employees, cca. 70% are professionals. Our main activities are rehabilitation and education of children and young people with communication difficulties. Currently we have about 630 clients aged 0-30, and 95% of the services we provide are non-institutional.
Our services are provided on 3 locations: Nazorova 47 Zagreb, Ilica 83 Zagreb, Nova cesta Zagreb. If our students come outside the city of Zagreb, they settle in foster families or in the premises of our home. We currently have 15 students on the accommodation in Dormitory Nazorova 47. They are in our dormitory only over weekdays, and they all go home on weekends.

1.program for preeschool and elementary education - street of Vladimira Nazora 47
during this program children are using all sort of rehabilitation.

Psychosocial rehabilitation includes:
 speech and langugage therapy
 special education and rehabilitation
 kinesitherapy and sport therapy
 music/art/work therapy
 psychosocial support
 sensory integration/
multi-sensory stimulation
 sign language

Services are provided during working days from monday to friday beetwwen 8:00 - 17:00 h . Clients are integrated in the regular kindergarden or primary school, by model half time in regular education system and other half in our Center.
In this department there is a professional team of workers and it includes: social worker,
psychologist, pedagogist, speach therapist and rehabilitators.

2. Program for secondary education - street Ilica 83
in which we educate students in five different professions (chef, pastry chef, tailor, tinsmith, locksmith). 70 % of high school students are trained in the catering profession in occupations chef and pastry chef. We have 125 students in VET education.
Lession are organised by model - one week in school and one week at working process (hotels, pastry shope, restaurans, etc.). They are also involved:
speech and langugage therapy
 special education and rehabilitation
 kinesitherapy and sport therapy
 music/art/work therapy
 psychosocial support
 sensory integration/
multi-sensory stimulation
 sign language
At this location there is also programme and services for young people from 15-21 who are not in VET education regarding their difficulties and they are learning basic life competencies (16 clients).

3.The day Center (students from 21-30)- Nova cesta, Zagreb
In this programme at the moment we have 15 clients who regarding their difficulties are learning basic life competencies (16 clients) and socializing with local community.
In this department also, here is a professional team of workers and it includes: social worker,
psychologist and rehabilitators.
They are also involved:

 kinesitherapy and sport therapy
 music/art/work therapy
 psychosocial support

multi-sensory stimulation

In all programs we have average 20 volonteers every years. Beside them, there are also personal assistans for 20 clients.
Our mission is to help students to be happy, to develop into responsible and creative individual integrated in the community.
