"Molodechno State Music College named after M.K.Oginski" (web-page - molmk.by) is an educational institution in the system of continuing professional education, which provides young people the right to get education, the implementation needs of the individual, society and state in the middle special education in accordance with the interests and abilities of each.
The cultural life of the town of Molodechno and of the entire Minsk region one can not imagine without the Music College. The fact, that the college belongs to the secondary educational sector, underlines its main task: to train professional teachers for children’s music schools and arts schools, to educate young musicians as artistically independent persons that is to make them future representatives of the Belarusian nation in the world aiming to promote Belarusian culture, to create artistic values.
The educational process is being conducted in the building, which for the recent decade has become a true arts temple. There are 12 studies in it, over 60 classrooms are organized for group and individual exercises. The students and teachers make use of the library, which comprises over 83 thousand books. There is a workshop for tuning and repairing of musical instruments. The college administration pays great attention to the improvement of the musical instruments basis. Annually musical instruments are purchased from the best production companies.
For the full-scaled work of the crafts and arts department there is a studio for painting, art, materials technology, composition; 100% of the non-resident students live at the hostel, where there is a gym, a first-aid post and a cafe.
The volunteering project is planned to be strictly outside of regular scholar curriculum and this is something the staff of the college has the intention to develop in order to bring the added value and additional benefit for the college, for its students, for local community, Minsk region, etc.
The pedagogical staff concentrates its efforts not only on training professional skills but also on:
- patriotic and citizens’ upbringing of the students;
- promoting the harmonious development of the students, the full realization of their abilities, the combination of high morality and culture with a sense of professional responsibility for the quality and results of their work;
- sense of respect for other nations and peoples of the world.
The lecturers and tutors of the educational institution do their utmost to fulfill their tasks. During the latest decade the Molodechno Music College maintains its leading positions in the sphere of young musicians’ upbringing. Today there are 5 professional courses in the College:
instrumental performance,
conducting,
singing,
musicology,
arts and crafts;
and 8 specializations:
piano;
orchestral string bow instruments (subdivided into: violin, viola, violoncello, contrabass);
orchestral wind - instruments and percussion instruments (subdivided into: wooden wind instruments, brass wind - instruments, percussion);
folk orchestra instruments (subdivided into: bayan, accordion, dulcimer, domra, balalaika, guitar);
conducting (academic chorus);
singing (academic);
artistic things from straw, flax, paper;
artistic processing of wood).
College graduates acquire following qualifications (according to their speciality): children’s music school teacher, comprehensive school music teacher, amateur chorus or orchestra conductor, chorus or orchestra artist, arts and crafts teacher and artist.
Our graduates successfully teach and perform in all the regions of Belarus and abroad; every year they enter universities and academies, where they go on with the studies, improve theoretically and practically, proving the high standard reputation of their alma mater.
We want to mark that the volunteers that will come, will not be anyhow the part of the educational college program, but they will be there for the after and outside of college students’ activities. In addition, the volunteers will be coming to bring additional value and not will be the replacement of some college staff.
Our European partners and we plan to create a Youth House in Molodechno, and decided to involve in the process European volunteers as more experienced in the field of non-formal education. Future activities of this Youth House will be connected with non-formal education, not so presented in Belarus. It will be educational activates and workshops organized with the help of volunteers, college stuff, and young people of Molodechno.
