Bratislava Policy Institute is independent research think-tank established in 2017 with objective to to support and develop public policy research initiatives and to provide public policy orientated expertise in the areas of youth policy, extremism, ethnicity, citizenship, minority studies, and migration. BPI’s team is diverse and it consists of sociologists, political scientists, and legal scholars. BPI in its activities fosters publication activities, organizes seminars, conferences, and workshops, works on expert standpoints and public policy materials, BPI is also devoted to consultancy activities. BPI is personally and scientifically linking up on good traditions of research and analytical activities of the Institute for Public Affairs Bratislava (www.ivo.sk). BPI’s team has been involved in various activities concerning both activism and policy research for the sake of liberal democratic regime and against extremism and disinformation campaigns inspired and run by different enemies of liberal democratic regime.
Target group of BPI activities are various, from the public to academia, researchers, representatives of various NGO´s and public authorities. However, there are various activities with the target group young people focusing especially on the educational activities and innovations. We regularly organize discussions dealing with the current issues, which are welcomed and visited mainly by young generation. In the research area we were developing the strategy for Ministry of foreign affairs on how to communicate towards young generation the topics concerning the foreign and security policy of Slovak republic. The members of BPI team are also involved in various initiatives such as for example School against hate, No day without us or Visegrad Insights. BPI team also established SAR Section Slovakia, which is the global network focusing on protection of Scholars and students, which are facing persecution and threats in the countries of their origin. Activities are focusing on protection, promotion and advocacy activities. To raise awareness on this topic BPI created an Pop-up course for the Universities, series of discussion and also Freedom Festival.
