Caritas means charity and is the basic mission of Christians. By working together women and men, professional staff and volunteers look for possibilities and ways to realize charity in our society. We identify ourselves as advocate for the poor and disadvantaged people and strive to foster solidarity in our society. Caritas Munich/Freising was founded in 1922 and is the largest social service provider in Upper Bavaria. It is the umbrella organisation with 11 specialized associated organisations and numerous members. It offers social services for people of all ages, all social groups and confessions.
