Kibela NGO is registered as organization - "sdrujenie" on April 12th 2019 as a natural step of development of non-formal group of volunteers that has been working on community projects for more than 5 years. The main aims are to empower young people and women, to motivate and inspire people to act together for common wellbeing, to bring good practices from EU and worldwide to local level, to connect people from the region with EU through information campaings, trainings, semirars, ect. Bringing EU, its values and achievements closer to people, esp young ones, who are disadvantage because of place they were born and live in, is one of the ways to promote social inclusion and strengthen the community in order to meet societal challenges.
Target groups: young people and women in distant/rural areas, with fewer opportunities that need additional support due to social, economical and/or geographical obstacles (living in small towns/villages). There are two special target groups that we work with to reach and support our main target groups. The first is retired people who keep the traditions and knowledge from generations back. They are part of our volunteers and contribute to our activities by sharing intangible values and building bridges between generations. The second special target group is men. We think that educating men is a way to improve equity and prevent gender-based violation.
"Learning plan": during the design of each project, we gather information about learning needs of the volunteers and prepare individual "learning plan". This plan is prepared in pairs - one that needs the knowledge/skill, ect and one that may provide or support the process. This process is what we are proud of because it is a model of how equity works - all volunteers, no matter their age, experience or social status, can be "supporters" and deliver learning moment. For example, for one of our projects we needed a graphic facilitation. We prepared "learning plan" in which young (16 years old) volunteers will lead the "experienced" ones through this process and will support us in learning this skill. Using social media for dissemination is another example of this process that young people lead/support the learning process of "elder" generation in equal manner.
