We are the National Organization of Erasmus Student Network (ESN) in Azerbaijan operating since 2016, officially registered as the “Erasmus Student Network – Azerbaijan” public union since 2019. Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is the biggest volunteer student association in Europe whose mission is to provide practical assistance to incoming and outgoing students in countries by means of a students-helping-students system and to develop the student mobility on local, national and international levels being present in more than 1000 Higher Education Institutions from 42 countries. There are six causes that we are thrilled to work for: Culture, Education & Youth, Health & Well-Being, Environmental Sustainability, Skills & Employability, and Social Inclusion. As a National Organization operating in one of above mentioned 42 countries, our work is mainly centered on, but not limited to, promoting Erasmus+ opportunities, supporting internationalization strategy of Higher Education Institutions and providing international students with the best experiences ensuring their integration with local people in Azerbaijan. Right now, we are based at ADA University in Baku as a united local section and committed to serving all international students in the country. We have been organizing different events & projects that aimed at providing intercultural understanding and self-development opportunities for the local and international youth in the region. Last year, we organized one of the regional events of the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) - South-Eastern European Platform (SEEP)” where participants from 10 different European countries got to meet each other, exchange knowledge, and share best practices. Notably, our organization has a Social Inclusion Agenda aimed at ensuring inclusive mobility based on equity and on the needs of each individual. Within the framework of this agenda, we have constantly been developing projects to transform international as well as local students into more active citizens. We have been implementing the “Erasmus Village” and “Erasmus in Schools” projects since 2016, which are a series of events aimed at building constructive dialogue within local communities and introducing major concepts to youth for tackling societal challenges and raising awareness about benefits of international education and Erasmus+ program. Our activities are not limited to Azerbaijan, and our members are actively involved in the external representation of our organization and attended several events in Europe. All of our members are volunteers who commit themselves to volunteer for the benefit of others and strive for positive change in the world. The change we aim for starts from their society and expands further to the whole world.
