Tallinna Liivamäe Kindergarten is an institution offering pre-school education for preschoolchildren.The aim is to preparepre-school children for school, taking in to account the child's individuality. Studies are planned from the age of 1,5. The study is based on the approved curriculum. Children's development is supported on a dailybasis, they are encouraged to discover, create and notice, preserving the environment and valuing traditions.
Liivamäe Kindergarten has several different cooperation partners with whom there is constant and effective cooperation. One of the main ones is the Staabi- ja sidepataljon (Cyber command). The older groups visit them every year and at least once a year the conscripts play with the children in a kindergarden while the teachers are in team training. In addition, we collaborate and joint project with nearby kindergartens and the International School. There children can see and get to know other cultures, languages and people. Our big goal is also to protect and save the environment. One of the great partners in this field is Metsakitse Farm, whose animals and life can be discovered on the spot by children as a joint event but farmers have also brought their own animals to the kindergarten yard and there has been a lot of discovery and excitement. In addition, there is a fishermen's association with which there is a cooperation in the kindergarten. The kindergarten participates in various sports events, competitions, projects and is open to new and exciting challenges. One of the most important values of the kindergarten is outdoor education, which is also reflected in the educational activities on a weekly basis. Various trees and shrubs grow in the yard of the kindergarten, which children have the opportunity to get acquainted with. In cooperation with parents, we have built various flower and herb beds. In addition, children can see the insects there, for which we have also created insect hotels. If possible, we go out of the kindergarten yard and discover not only the yard area but also the nature and biota around us. We do this both in nearby parks and on hiking trails outside the city. However, in our in-room activities we are reusable and environmentally friendly. Due to this, we are also recognized with the title of Eco-schools global which is recognized as an nature-friendly kindergarten.
