A szervezet leírása

The Lithuanian Culture Institute (LCI) is a state budgetary institution established by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania in Vilnius, Lithuania.
The LCI purposefully presents Lithuanian culture and professional art abroad and enhances the opportunities on the international scene for cultural professionals and artists, as well as for specialists and organisations working in these fields. The representation of Lithuanian (LT) culture abroad is carried out by organizing various representational LT cultural programmes, implementation of cooperative bilateral and multilateral exchanges as well as cultural programmes in LT and abroad.

LCI undertakes the following principal activities:
– organizes and coordinates diversified representational LT cultural programmes abroad;
- runs the Study Visits programme for foreign art and culture professionals;
- promotes LT literature abroad: consults and informs foreign publishers and translators on issues concerning LT literature; organizes seminars for translators and publishers; organizes presentations and creative sessions of LT writers abroad; administers Translation Grant programme;
- cooperates with the Cultural Attachés in foreign countries in the preparation of their activities and coordinates the implementation;
- prepares and implements the programme of cultural events within the Vilnius Book Fair;
- coordinates Lithuania’s participation in the European Union programmes “Creative Europe” and “Europe for Citizens” and acts as national contact points;
- compiles and disseminates information about Lithuanian culture and professional art;
- advises, shares knowledge and participates in inter-institutional activities in its competence areas
- prepares and disseminates information about LT culture, artists and creative works, produces informational publications that promote Lithuania’s art and culture.

LCI team consists of 14 members: 6 Projects Managers, 2 Projects Coordinators, Head of Programs and Projects Department, 2 Communication Coordinators, Senior Accountant, Office Administrator and Director. Members of LCI are always happy to welcome new members and willing to share their experience, therefore each year at least 2 young trainees join the team for their practice.
