The Terepszemle Studio Association was founded in 2007 by green activists, educators, community organisers, by everyday people who were ready to work on nature protection at local, regional and international level. The association has organised several youth camps and trainings on sustainability, photography, nature protection and nature-related healthy life-styles. The organisation was involved in detecting and investigating cases like mistreatment of trash, poisoning of land and natural waters and initiating the necessary legal procedures in connection with them. It is mainly working in Debrecen and Hortobagy. In Debrecen recently it includes mainly advisory on green matters, while the focus of its activites are more in Hortobagy. The orgaisation hosted the annual meeting of green organisations (green OT) in 2010 in Hortobagy and since then it has been involved in several local and international nature-protection projects. Since 2021 it is maintaining the Animal Park of the Pusta, where the traditional Hungarian domestic animals are kept and introduced in interactive ways to the visitors. The animal park is hosting organised groups of children and families too for special programs to bring the nature and the natural way of living closer to the people (petting animals, horse riding, carriage ride, outdoor cooking of traditional meals, herbs workshops, handcrafts). The animal park hosts greater yearly events too like national meeting and competition of cow herdsmen (gyulyásverseny), meeting of shepherds (pásztortalálkozó) or the fair of the Hungarian Grey cattle (Magyar Szürke Bikák Vására). It includes an adventure park with challenges connected to the pusta, a wooden playground and handcraft workshops. Besides running the animal park, the association is organising trips in Hortobagy where the local nature is introduced in thematic trips (related to the season: boat-trip on the Hortobagy river + visiting a traditional fishing farm, trying traditional fishing methods, birdwatching on foot/ bikes/ 4wheels. It is maintaining several bird-watching spots (hidden, half underground watch places) and running an outdoor path/trail along the Hortobagy river where the visitors can explore the nature on their own (maintaining information boards, cleaning the path, cutting grass, providing and updating information). The association has an agreement with the local government on running local nature-protection programs and activities.
