“Armavir Development Center” (ADC) socio-economic non-governmental organization was established in 2005. The mission of ADC is “Collaboration for socio-economic progress”. To implement its mission effectively, the organization has adopted the following strategic directions of its activity:
1. Improvement and consolidation of democratic system
2. Support of civil society
3. Sustain social and economic development
Target groups: rural and urban population, rural and urban self-government bodies, local government bodies, healthcare and educational institutions, citizens with violated rights, citizens struggling against corruption, women, young people and children, traditional and alternative media institutions, traditional and alternative media representatives, traditional and alternative media users, minorities and vulnerable groups.
The geographic reach of ADC’s operations has started from Armavir region but has gone far beyond the regional geography. ADC is a member of Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum, Open Government Partnership Armenian platform, CSO board attached to the Ministries of Justice and Social Affairs of Government of Armenia and Global Partnership for Social Accountability under the World Bank.
The projects that ADC currently implements include Armavir InfoTun program, which helps young people to create alternative media resources through blogging, training, community mobilization and online news dissemination. We conducted Civil Society Center in Armavir project to promote youth participation and reinforcement of civil society on different issues of social importance. Youth-led community development projects are facilitated by "Youth Bank" program. ADC mobilized volunteer citizen monitors to monitor the construction of 20 schools across Armenia to ensure that schools construction efforts meet contractual requirements, satisfy community needs and are built to increase the level of seismic safety. ADC implemented Community-based Services for Children with Disabilities project to improve the quality service provision for children with disabilities. To boost competitiveness of regional SMEs and create sustainable employment opportunities, ADC is involved in a joint initiative Boosting competitiveness of regional SMEs, as a precondition for regional economic development. ADC has been providing technical vocational education training for young people with disabilities in Armavir supporting job placements of people with disabilities through different projects since 2012. To ensure its children support center’s sustainability, which provides free therapeutical services to children with disabilities, ADC has started a social entrepreneurship - building a greenhouse, where children will receive therapy, and the profit of which will fully be transferred to cover the expenses necessary for the operation of the center. ADC is aso implementing a number of projects for providing help to vulnerable groups during the Pandemic, as well as families from Nagorno Karabakh, not only providing psychological support, food, clothes, stationary for children, etc., but also helping them to find shelter.

Moreover, ADC hosted an EVS volunteer, who had an enormous role in starting to organize Erasmus+ projects in Armenia, by ADC.
