Beschrijving van de organisatie

The Social Centre Rives de Charente is a non profit organisation created in 1990 in order to promote social mixity.

The association works in the respect of the republican principles of equality, freedom and fraternity and in the will to put into practice the principle of secularism.

The association aims to promote social, educational, cultural and sports activities.
These various fields of interventions aim at :
- Set up and practice actions or activities related to popular education
- Respond to the needs of all social categories present by fighting against any form of exclusion
- Facilitate and coordinate the action of the various affiliated associations

Our organisation proposes a large number of cultural actions for the general public to promote social links and solidarity. Run by a team of professionals and volunteers, the Social Center develop a global animation project. The general objective is to break the isolation of the inhabitants, to prevent and reduce exclusion, to reinforce solidarity between people by integrating them in collective projects, allowing them to be actors and to assume a social role within a group or on the territory.

Within the general framework of the animation of social life, our organisation have complementary missions like:

- a reception and listening function for users-inhabitants, families and groups or associations.
- providing special attention to families and vulnerable groups.
- developing social intervention actions adapted to the needs of the population and the territory.
- developing participation and the assumption of responsibility by users and volunteers.
- organizing consultation and coordination with professionals and actors involved in the social problems of the territory and/or on their priority intervention axes.
