Foundation for Entrepreneurship, Culture and Education (FECE) is a non-profit organisation registered in а public benefit. The organisation was founded in January 2014, based in Sofia, Bulgaria. Its mission is to promote, assist and support the development of culture, education, innovation and the entrepreneurial qualities of young people and people with fewer opportunities. FECE promotes freedom of cultural expression, encourages and organises creative initiatives in different fields of art, culture, media and education in an independent and creative nature. Our vision is to empower various communities and target audiences through arts, culture and education. FECE stands for preserving cultural heritage between generations and developing an intercultural dialogue among different layers of society. FECE supports the organisation and implementation of cultural events, seminars, non-formal educational activities, research and conferences. The team accomplishes these goals by implementing diverse cultural and art projects at the national and international levels. Motivated professionals in the sphere of culture, new media and education form the management board of the foundation.
FECE focuses on working with young people, e.g. those with fewer opportunities on the national and European levels. Through different initiatives, the team has already implemented notable national and international training courses and youth exchanges covering themes, such as social and cultural entrepreneurship, environmental awareness and protection, sport, intercultural communications, cultural heritage, common human values and active citizenship and participation. Through our art programmes, the team provides an opportunity for young and emerging artists to develop and present their artworks at a national level. In these activities, FECE explores new forms of cultural expression, the intersections between digital and traditional arts, and the effects of new media on cultural consumption.
FECE works towards empowering youth from different backgrounds and social layers. For us, it is essential to create accessible opportunities for young people to participate in a wide range of activities and engage in solidarity initiatives. Through our work and projects, we aim at developing new knowledge and competences of young people for their personal, professional and socio-economic development and, in this way, improving their employability and entry into the labour market. We have decided to apply for the ESC Quality Label because we believe in the personal realisation of young people through volunteering and solidarity activities that promote common European values, such as solidarity, democracy and human rights.
